I had the same thing happen. The 1st bat broke where the bat joins together. Easton replaced it in July. The bat was used maybe 15 games in the Fall and then not used in the winter. Started using it in March and about the time the bat was broke in it cracked in two places the first crack was 6 inches long and the second was 3 inches. I called Easton and they would not replace it.
I never cracked/broke an easton, but I never cared a lot for them myself when I was in school. I busted up 4 Worth Copperheads though. I loved them though, with the LS TPX being my second choice.
the comp bats sound "dead" but if you hit it on the sweet spot the ball flys.
Aluminum bats are the devil. Biggest problem with baseball right now imo. They have more problems than wood bats as far as breaking/defects as well. Go to wood bats and require high schools to have composite bats and you'll save money and injury.
I loved wood bats. I took BP with wood bats quite often in HS, and even hit a grand slam with one in a game. Smaller sweet spot, but still plenty of pop when you hit that spot.
I haven't really noticed the injury problem...I have always thought it would be there, but it doesn't appear to be...If it was happening College pitchers would be getting killed right and left....
Changing the length/weight ratio to -3 in high school seems to have made a big difference as far as injuries go.

Exactly.
my son has used the comp bat for 2 years,no problems whatsoever with it so far.
He is hitting well with it, just afraid it is going to come apart where it has that movement in between the bell and handle.
